New - How to Submit

To submit your entry, please email the following to:  contest@biovis.net

 

1)  A simple statement of uour answer to the contest question!    We've provided RNA sequences and structure data from RNAs found "wild" in the human genome in various individuals (labeled e1 to e17) and a collection of sequences and structures that we think should exist (based on what we know about heredity) but that don't seem to exist in humans (labeled dne1 to dne3).  We've also provide similar data for three test sequences, a, b, and c.

 

Tell us which, if any, of a, b and c, are real sequences found in humans, and which don't exist?

 

Why do you think so?  What's similar, or dissimilar between the sequences and structures that led you to this conclusion?

 

2) A brief extended-abstract/short-paper (4 pages maximum) style writeup of your visualization, analysis, and results.  Concentrate on what you did, not on the biology - we hope to move these to publication under the BioVis proceedings later, but we'll help you with the biology sections when we get to that.  Right now, focus on your methods.

 

3) Optionally, a Powerpoint, keynote, AVI or MOV presentation, demonstrating your analysis/visualization/etc, and explaining anything you think we should know, that doesn't fit neatly into the paper-style presentation of your results.
